St Mawgan Eccentric Gentleman’s Association was formed in the Falcon Inn, St Mawgan in about 2000. The exact date has been lost in the mists of time but the original aim of the association was to help out any local residents in need and raise money for local charities.

Since then the group have tackled numerous tasks including moving sheds and mowing lawns and on one occasion they even moved the Church Organ in St Mawgan (although they have to confess that this was an electric Yamaha version and not the old one that you’d expect to find in a church!)

Over the years they've held many Charity Beach Barbecues at Mawgan Porth often featuring local entertainment. The association have their own marquees and provide them, along with their barbecue, to local events such as the Feast Day Sports and the local Gymkhana and Horseshow. The Annual St Mawgan Pram Push has their enthusiastic support and they will always try to be there for the local school and church if they are needed.

The associations biggest change was when Maurice Raby – sadly no longer with us – suggested that they should hold a steam and vintage rally on his land just outside the village.

Now in its twelfth year the Rally grows from strength to strength and is easily the associations biggest source of fund raising. Find out more about the nominated charities for this years event on the CHARITY page.

Without the help of local residents who pitch in and help wherever needed though, there is no doubt that this event would struggle to take place.

The St Mawgan Eccentric Gentleman’s Association would like to take this opportunity to thank every single person who gives their valued help and support.

This fabulous community led fund raising event has something for everyone. From shows by the famous Fergie Fillies and Fordson Majorettes and Dancing Diggers to have a go events like Motorbike Limbo, Landrover Challenge, Vintage Car Obstacle Course, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Tractor Driving Challenge and Steam Engine Driving to Live Evening Entertainment, Homemade Food, Bar, Craft Tent, Vintage Teas, Kids Area, Car Boot and Shopping AND MORE.

Planning on being bigger and better again for 2018 it truly is a great value weekend for family and friends.
